Incredible story. One of my uncles lived in Pine Bluff for decades until he retired to nearby Stuttgart, Arkansas. I took my mother there to visit in 2016 and 2018, and we definitely drove through Pine Bluff in 2016. The whole area is just really impacted by rural poverty and struggles with addiction. I can't even imagine doing what this guy did and then expecting success there. Then again, he seems really delusional. Provo to Pine Bluff must be quite the culture shock. Also, the public record search shows that he now owns 145 parcels there, so he perseveres!
Found the guy’s Facebook page. He’s still trying to make a go of it in Pine Bluff. He’s even running for mayor as a Libertarian (this is my shocked face). Still regularly posting videos of getting robbed again. Still at least considering buying available properties in the area.
I get it. I have visited Arkansas 4 times in 4 years and bought a lake parcel. Mountain biking in NWA and the eclipse at Petit Jean. There are diamonds and massive crystals in the AR ground. I am rooting for him to make some planned community in there. I love his fun ideas
