Devin Morrison’s ‘Bussin’ nailed all sorts of 90s I and 90s II R&B and even tracked down Daz for this heater: https://devinmorrison.bandcamp.com/track/the-struggle-iz-real-feat-daz-dillinger

Doggystyleeee doing the most revival-y g-funk revival on the rap side of things, down to flipping Death Row samples: https://youtu.be/zHzq0T_ZcGU

Not to mention Dam Funk and XL Middleton’s wave of funk by way of g-funk. Shoutout to Read Max's LA readers.

Rochelle Jordan is massively underrated and has a great 90s rnb feel. Little Destiny, little house. https://open.spotify.com/album/5qJ0CnwfIUUgcKFdrjRP6v?si=3htqUVKwSFaBexBcSxQLiA

Check out JMSN as well. Usher was apparently a big fan of the early stuff.

If you've never listened to this nightcore remix of Never Meant, you might enjoy it: https://soundcloud.com/gyrofield3/never-meant-nightcore

Also did you listen to CFCF's Memoryland? Not TRL but temporally adjacent.

Yes… arguably “Punksong” would fit on this playlist! And tbh I came across TDJ thanks to the track Mike did with her on this album above 😂

Can't wait to dive into the playlist. According to Spotify, my #5 song was baebadoobee's "Dye It Red". Another fave from the album is "Charlie Brown". Oh, and I'm loving Ms Nayar's sounds too.

The K-Pop I hear from my kids is alive with 90's I and 90's II, particularly R&B. During the Hamilton era I quickly learned that they don't give a shit about what the songs are referencing so I just keep my mouth shut. Here's one that evokes Da Brat:

Oh man how did I forget kpop!

This 2012 Big Bang song is more 90s I than 90s II but it's great too.
