Great list! (Which is to say I would have made a very similar one but you thought of some good ones that wouldn't have occurred to me.) Have you seen Rome, Open City? Also might fit this theme. You can see some hints of Azor in the scenes with Mon Mothma and her husband, too. Hope we get a little more from season 2!

I agree on the mild embarrassment you feel in comparing some of the greatest movies of all time to Andor -- it makes me sound like one of those MCU shill manchildren on Twitter -- but it's actually true this time! Andor has got the goods!

I love "Rome, Open City," and it would definitely make an expanded version of this list. Azor, too!

*scribbling notes* between this and what I’ve read about the new “All Quiet on the Western Front,” I expect to be busy (and in need of some 1000 yard staring time) this weekend!

How has no one commented yet? All I can say is: hell yea - I know what I'll be doing over the holidays!

I assume no one’s commented because it’s the Wednesday before thanksgiving and everyone is gathering their families around the TV to turn off the Celtics game and watch “A Man Escaped”

Any thoughts on '71, which apparently is what the pot-banging in episode 3 was referencing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TrHn6fILG8
