I'd like to see more reporting on this. Was Ziz attracting trans people, or convincing people to become trans? Literally everyone connected with the group seems to be trans (based on what I've read).
I'm a little frustrated that Max ignored this dimension of the story. No matter what your philosophy of gender is, it's an important part of the story.
From what I’ve heard (just listened to the four part Behind the Bastards podcast), most of the folks involved were trans women already, but on one occasion Ziz said “you’re trans” to someone who was not, and did like to tell people they were “X” thing- but usually it was, “you’re half bad half good,” or “your transness is because half your brain is a man and half of it is a dead woman.”
So crazy stuff, coercive stuff, but trying to convince people they were trans wasn’t her thing as much as just trying to convince them of things in general.
