One of the interesting things about OpenAI for me is that they are so big and have grown so fast that they really have no idea what they are or what they want to be. They are the overgrown adolescent of tech behemoths, whose parents expect them to go to Harvard, win the World Series and a Nobel prize.

Are they a social media company? Are they a consumer service? A business tool? Are they a platform selling access to technology? Are they a public benefit company? Can they possibly do all of these things and become the everything company to justify the massive investment and expectations? Does this endless series of questions suggest I have high confidence in their chances?
